Dollar Stretcher has a good article this week about growing tomatoes in containers: Apartment Grown Tomatoes
I tried to grow them in pots last year but didn't have much luck at all. The containers might have been too small (4 gallon) or it may have just been a bad year for tomatoes, since others complained about them too. Another thing that was pointed out in this article is that container grown vegetables need regular feeding. I don't use artificial fertilizer as a rule, but I wonder if it would have been worth it in this case? I added compost a couple of times and used water from boiling eggs, etc.
Have you ever grown tomatoes in containers? Do you have the same kind of results as the people in the article?
