    MICHELLES - "just" a name?

    Hello all ~

I know that I have been a member of the forum for quite awhile now ... but I kind of recently realized something ... are a lot of your names Michelle?

OR, is it something religious or part of the forum that I am not picking up on ?

Just curious!  If its too personal I will understand ... perhaps you are a Secret Tightwad Society having codenames???  HAHA.

     My best ~ MATT

    Matt,

There were a lot of people named Michelle after the song Michelle by the Beatles was popular.

Other popular girls name have been Tiffany, Heather, and Brittany.

I know Sammiejo's name is for real unless her whole family has been lying to me for the past twenty years, LOL! I have know her since high school and we have been through alot together. We have pretty much adopted each other as sisters. I can definitely see the curiosity!!!!!!!!!

    Have a good one, hon!!

Yes, Matt, your observation is correct, as there have been three regulars on the site whose names include "Michelle" -- me, Michelle Brianschef, & Michelle Cinnamon Huskies.  And SO MANY new Forumites we've had since October (due tothe 10K-post challenge) that theere are bound to be many more Michelles whose handles I haave not yet learned.  Love in Him, Deb

Give it a few years Matt and you'll start seeing lots and lots of Ashley's instead of Michelle's Wink

I was born in 1968, but my mom didn't even listen to the Beatles so i'm not sure why I was named Michelle....I always wanted something different. I only knew one other girl in my whole school with my name; alot of Deborahs, Brendas, Sherris.....

I was born in the late 1950's, but instead of getting a name like Debbie or Karen or Cindy, or any of the other popular names of that era, I got "Melanie," a name my mother picked from Gone With the Wind. I love the name now, but all through school I only ever ran across one other person with that name, so I wasn't too wild about it back then.

Ironically, GWTW was my all-time favourite book growing up.  LOL

Re: MICHELLES - "just" a name?

Thank you all for answering my question!  I appreciate it!  I can remember when first joining it took me awhile to get the DH DD DS DSIL etc. down and now that's like a fluent second-language that I can read Big Smile

Your histories of your names were all very interesting!

I wasn't named after anyone, but Matthew (MATT) was very common in the late 70s!   I had so many classes growing up where there quite a few of us ... I have been "Matt H." for many, many years.

DEB:  Thank you so much for asking about my Mom.  Her second hand surgery (her right hand this time) went well though this one has much more pain than her first.  They did her dominant hand this time (and with her other hand still in the later part of the recovery process) she forgets sometimes that she needs to be limiting what she does!

She celebrated her 55th BDay on the 10th and it was great fun!   We had just ordered some dinner and then her friends came over with food and cake/desserts etc.  Great times!

Have excellent weekends everyone!!          My best always ~ MATT
