spent about $120 yesterday though $18 of it went in the garbage!  since I forgot to put the sausages in the freezer as the last step.  they were a good deal too. sigh.   got my house hold stuff like milk, fruit, yogurts, breads, cheese etc.   plus some goodies like a marked down mousse cake and donuts.

Were they left on the counter or in the car? Trust me, you aren't the only one to have done this.

Some of my meal plans are to use my specials if find and make as many crockpot meals that I can from that.

the sausages were meant for the freezer but I guess I got distracted because of rushing and allergies.   it was at 11am and I discovered them at 8 the next morning.  the freezer is in the basement.

Re: Shopping and Cooking in February

I am new at trying to budget food cost, but with the way grocery prices are rising, I am going to try cooking more at home.  I have 3 teenage boys and a really hungry husband, lol.  My Pick n Save started double coupons on Wed., the only catch is you must spend $25.00, and can only double up to 5 coupons in one transaction.  I take hubby with me so he can double coupon too.  So far this week I have planned out four meals, and 2 days of leftovers.  High of 40 degrees in WI. this weekend so I went to Sam's Club and bought big packs of hamburgers and brats for Sat. and Sunday we will have a large breakfast brunch.  Any ideas for using a crock pot?  Thanks, Leelee

I upped my budget to $300 this month - I managed to do just over $250 last month but the pantry/freezer is really bare right now.  I made an Aldi trip, a Shaws trip and a CVS trip and am at 130.14 so far.   A little higher than I wanted but I got a bit of meat at Shaws and sandwich bags, diapers and TP.

It is also a short month so that helps too!
