Same with me! :/

I never liked cellphones. It´s so embarrassing having to listen to other grown-ups going like "Honey, I´m home any minute now!" or "I simply can´t remember what to buy!" or having a fully fledged discussion with their sweetheart via cellphone.

I´m not a Luddite but I really do not think that anybody who doesn´t have to travel for business really NEEDS a GPS. People tell me that their ability to read and understand maps is getting worse than it has ever been since they use GPS.

We had a spectacular accident last month here in Germany. A truck driver believed his GPS an not his eyes and common sense and drove through a very steep vineyard. Well, you simply shouldn´t do that unless you are on a tractor. The truck crashed downhill, the driver barely could get out. How stupid can you be???

I get some value from my time on the Net, but like you 5 minutes turns into 1/2 hour or longer. I've actually converted my computer back into a desktop so that I *can't* bring it with me. My cell phone is a pre-paid deal for emergencies only.

Honestly, I'm starting to think that's there's a growing backlash against the current pace of technology and communications. When I talk to people about Twitter and Facebook, for the adults, the answer is pretty much a)they love it or b) they are groaning about another flippin technology to learn and check. I'm squarely in the B category.
