As I continue in my quest to find a teaching job that will start in September, I'm making ends meet by working odd jobs over the Spring and Summer. I currently have five part-time jobs, and I found them all on Craigslist. I'm doing two tutoring gigs, doing customer research, placing international exchange students, and coaching youths with disabilities on the workplace. Each job is a few hours here, a few hours there, but all together, they're enough to keep me solvent through the Fall. And they're all really quite interesting!
I find CL (Craigslist) to be a fantastic source for finding this kind of work, as well as finding people to do odd jobs around the house. I've bought, sold, gotten and given things for free on there. I've found volunteer work and I've posted information about community events. I even found a guy who removed all the junk in my basement for free!
Craigslist is such a great resource, and it's such a great FREE service. It's kind of like having access to every community center, grocery store, and library bulletin board in the state!
