We got our first snow day before yesterday and it snowed again last night. As I was brushing three or four inches of snow from the windshield of the car and enjoying the crisp air, clouds were gathering yet again to the west. Is this going to be one of those winters? It's much too early to tell yet, so who knows? After such an intense summer, an intense winter might be a relief, at least for awhile.
A stop at the hardware store is on my list because the insulating strip around the front door came loose last spring. I should have replaced it then because cooled air leaks out of the house just as fast as heated air. I just didn't so now is the time.
Winter caught me unprepared, to be honest. The garden still needs a final cleanup and a layer of mulch, the gutters need cleaning and the windows need washing before really cold weather. The garden tools need oiled and put away, too.
Don't you be caught off guard, too! Let this be your warning because it really is time to get ready for cold weather.
