If you look closely, you can see that the Wheat Chex are a little darker than the Great Value ones and the Great Value rice chex are darker than the name brand Rice Chex.
As for taste, there wasn't a lot of difference between the two Rice Chex. But, the people who did the test said there was definitely a difference between the Wheat Chex and that the name brand was better.
Cost: $3.12 for each of the Name Brand cereals and $2.38 for each of the Walmart Great Value brand cereals. Boxes of each type of cereal were exactly the same: Wheat Chex were the same size for name brand and store brand and Rice chex were too.
From now on I will buy the store brand rice chex and the name brand wheat chex if I am paying full price. But, what I would do would be to wait until Christmas time when chex go on sale and buy a lot of them when I can get them for $1.50 per box for the name brand.
