The benefit is that I was free to teach the children with methods that worked for them. Support can make the early experiences in home education easier however.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;There is very little on the books for that state which in one way can make it nice, in other ways can make it difficult, because you have such ambiguous rules.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Compared to other states we homeschooled in (FL, NC, CA) Alabama is a bit behind the times on support, but not as intrusive as other states either...&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I sometimes invert letters and whole words when I type especially when typing quickly, doing multiple things at once or when I am too tired to be attempting to write. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I likely looked this one over in too much of a rush before posting. It proves that it's worth taking a bit of extra time over. &lt;/p&gt;
